What are Goddess Oracle Cards?
The inspiration for these cards came to me in 2022, when I began doing research into different goddesses from different cultures around the world.
Each goddess was gifted with influence and control over certain aspects of life. These goddesses steward a special wisdom that when asked respectfully, could bestow upon a seeker the insight and action to help that seeker resolve a situation and evolve to a greater understanding.
I felt compelled to pay homage to them by creating this deck that the seeker can use in their own personal sacred space. In my illustrative journey, I chose to model them after one of my biggest inspirations: Alphonse Mucha. Each goddess card is illustrated as a “Mucha Girl” with surrounding mandalas, flora, and sometimes animals that she is associated with.
The cards are meant to be used alone, in a Goddess Spread or to augment other oracle or tarot cards in a combination reading where the Goddess Card can offer additional insight to the seeker.
Reading the cards
Each Goddess Card represents three aspects to which each goddess possesses distinct wisdom. The cards are shuffled by Seeker while holding in their mind the situation they seek wisdom for. The Seeker then splits the cards into three piles, then stacks them back up. The Reader (which is sometimes also the Seeker) then holds the deck in their left hand, while pulling a smalls stack cards with the right hand (known as the overhand shuffle) and then shoots them back into the deck. When a card falls out, that is the card the Seeker is gifted with. If the card has fallen in the upright position, the card is read in the positive aspect. If the card is not perpendicular and more sideways, the card is read in the neutral aspect. If the card is upside down, it is read in the reversed aspect.
